1. Information We Collect

Qasaaid does not require an account or registration. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., when contacting us via WhatsApp or email).

  • Usage Data: Reading preferences (font size, theme, viewing mode) are stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers.
  • Favorites: All favorites and collections are stored locally in your browser or device storage.
  • Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics, tracking cookies, or fingerprinting.
  • Voice search (Listen): When your device can't recognise a recitation on its own — and always on the web — the recording is sent to our server to be transcribed, then discarded; it is never stored. If you answer "Was this right?" under a result, we record only that yes or no, how confident Listen was, and which app you used — no audio, no transcript, and nothing that identifies you.

2. How We Use Information

Any information you voluntarily send us (via WhatsApp, email, or other channels) is used solely to respond to your inquiry, process your contribution, or improve the app. We never sell, share, or rent your information to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Sync

The Qasaaid library content (authors, qasaaid, verses) is fetched from our API and cached locally. User-created content (favorites, collections) remains on your device. We do not have access to your personal reading data.

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses WhatsApp as a contact channel. When you tap a WhatsApp link, your interaction is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy. We do not receive any data from WhatsApp about your contacts or messages.

5. Children's Privacy

Qasaaid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
